The Revolution Grows. Be the change you want to see. We are starting simple. We are growing food.
The People's Garden is a grassroots collective in Pittsburgh, PA of people who want to be self sufficient, and who want to grow food. The People's Garden has organized to share seeds, establish local and community based seed banks, to grow food in our own back yards, and to work together to plant, grow and harvest that food. We will be modeling our growing work to provide community education and events.
By growing a living example, we will live out our beliefs, shifting our food production back to our neighborhoods, our communities, our blocks, and our family and friends.
We need a new paradigm to respond to the fragmentation caused by various forms of fundamentalism. We need a new movement, which allows us to move from the dominant and pervasive culture of violence, destruction and death to a culture of non-violence, creative peace and life. The Earth democracy movement, provides an alternative worldview in which humans are embedded in the Earth Family, we are connected to each other through love, compassion, not hatred and violence and ecological responsibility and economic justice replaces greed, consumerism and competition as objectives of human life.
By re localizing our food production we can improve our regional economies create jobs protect our way of life and create abundance for all.
We challenge ourselves and our communities to live in practice and to grow food. Be the change you want to see. The Revolution Grows.
